Pol Anglada (b. 1991) is from a small town in Spain near the Catalan Pyrenees. Anglada discovered his passion for drawing through his father’s old comics, immersing himself in the style of Milo Manra, Tanino Liberatore, Enki Bilal. Later in his teens he found the work of Tom of Finland and various other homoerotic illustrations.
Anglada moved to Paris to pursue a career in fashion, continuing his illustration in his spare time. While working as fashion designer, Anglada founded FreeTime in 2016 with Parisian studio Faye and Gina; dedicated to celebrating spare time, FreeTime produced zines, screen prints and shirts presented annually at the Paris Ass Book Fair, a leading Queer zine festival.
Anglada’s first exhibition in Los Angeles, Hole (2022), brought him closer to Tom of Finland Foundation, which resulted in his participation in the Tom of Finland Art & Culture Festival in London later that year.
Anglada’s style stems from voyeurism, being both a spectator and a participant who finishes the scene in their mind, embodying subversive themes of masculinity and vulnerability.
