Mikey Massey, Flying Freehold

Regular price £32.00GBP

Tax included.

Flying Freehold takes its title from the legal term for property extending into spaces it does not own, paralleling the fragmented and impermanent nature of modern life. It reflects on the paradox of claiming intangible spaces like the air or sky and how this mirrors human connection: unseen boundaries, shared but contested spaces, and transient exchanges. Through themes of anonymity, routine, and existential detachment, the book invites readers to consider what is truly “owned” in the spaces we occupy and the lives we live.

The softcover book utilizes materials familiar to architecture; the black-and-white cover image is printed on one-sided white light cardboard and is hazed by an opaque translucent jacket featuring silver-printed text. Images flow through the uncoated, warm white pages in a rhythmic arrangement. The layouts incorporate a dynamic combination of full-color and grayscale images, thoughtfully interspersed with moments of pause.

Limited Edition of 150 Copies. Published by Action Motion Press, London, 2025.
