Al cerchio delle tue mani (On the circle of your hands. A story in images of the Italian feminist movement from the archive of the Milan Women’s Bookstore Collective) by artist Bibi Tomasi IS part of BilderAtlas' editorial series Eight Poems by, dedicated to the work of contemporary women visual artists

The book is a collection of never-before-seen photographs of the assemblies and the communal life of the first feminist groups in Italy, taken in the 70s by the versatile author Bibi Tomasi on the centenary of her birth: poet, writer, journalist, one of the founders of Libreria delle donne di Milano (Milan’s Women’s Bookstore Collective). The volume has been curated and designed as a portable photographic archive.

The publication, printed in Italy with Grafiche Antiga, is accompanied by a slipcase.
It is curated by our director and founder Giorgia Basch. It includes an essay by the philosopher Linda Bertelli. The design is by Jurgen Maelfeyt.

Bibi Tomasi (1925-2000) was an Italian writer, poet, journalist and among the founding members of Libreria delle donne di Milano. Known for her literary works such as Il paese di calce and La sproporzione, since 1970 she has been a leading figure in the Italian feminist movement.
