See Red Womens Workshop: Feminist Posters 1974-1990

See Red is a characteristically exceptional book from Four Corners. The image-making activity of See Red - London-based grass roots group - sought to redress the sexist representation of women in visual culture, inserting positive images in place of negative. Its intensely creative posters reflect an understanding that campaigning successfully for women's rights necessitated resistance-building against political repression at international level, against racism and against workers' rights curtailment.

This is a record of an incredibly buoyant and yet forceful set of images. Graphically rich, historically important, and still relevant.
