In 2011, Tom Wood met his friend and long time collaborator, artist Padraig Timoney (then living in Naples). They worked together on finalising the layouts for Men and Women, which was subsequently published by Steidl (and is now out of print). On completing the task, Padraig presented Tom with a “surprise” - a dummy book he had put together, the same size as Men and Women but made up of outtakes from the Photie Man book they had worked on (again for Steidl) 10 years earlier. Tom was bowled over by the spreads, the playfulness of the whole enterprise. However due to time limitations it was left unpublished.
Now added to and re-edited to include more images and material from the past 10 years, Snatch Out of Time is the result. The earliest pictures included in this new Japanese publication go back 1974.
