Ballroom Dancer, Blackpool was made in 1972 at the outset of Griffin's career as a freelance photographer. It is not included in the iconic photo book he made with Barney Bubbles in 1978, Copyright, but, a photograph of another male contestant in this particular ballroom championship is!
Ballroom Dancer, Blackpool is an almost totemic image of a woman - the spectre of Griffin's largely all-male cast in the 70s and 80s.
This new edition is produced in a limited set of 90 signed and numbered prints. Image 12 x 8", paper 16.5 x 11.5". Archival pigment print.
Griffin's work was included in Here We Are, an exhibition of British photography curated by Lucy Kumara Moore, Christopher Bailey and Alasdair McLellan to celebrate Burberry's September 2017 collections.
